Calvin Harris did NOT go engagement ring shopping right before he and Taylor Swift split, despite an inaccurate report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Swift and Harris ended their relationship earlier this week after 15 months of dating. We were told that there was no dramatic event or any sort of scandal that led to the breakup, but the relationship simply “ran its course.” But the New York Post quotes a dubious source as claiming Swift “broke up with him” after giving “a bullsh*t excuse about her career.” The newspaper’s misinformed insider also falsely adds, “He was ring shopping.”
However, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us that Harris never went looking for engagement rings prior to the split, and the outlet’s claim is simply “not true.” In fact, after various tabloids began spreading different lies about why Swift and Harris supposedly broke up, the DJ himself tweeted, “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.”
